Responsible Management of Licensed Venues
Depending on your role within the liquor and gaming industries, you may be required to attend:
- Responsible service of alcohol (RSA) training
- Responsible management of licensed venues (RMLV) training
- Responsible service of gambling (RSG) training
- Gaming nominee training
These courses provide skills in handling difficult situations, for example, recognising the signs of alcohol intoxication and problem gambling, and using strategies to address them. The courses also help ensure employees are aware of their legal obligations and the ramifications associated with the service they provide.
RMLV training is designed for licensees (if individuals) and approved managers. Permit holders may also require a RMLV certificate under certain circumstances. Gaming nominee training for managers
A gaming nominee is an employee performing a managerial role at a venue and is responsible for the conduct of gaming on a particular gaming site.
If you are applying for a gaming nominee licence you:
- Must complete the approved responsible service of gambling (RSG) training course. You have 3 months from the date of starting employment to obtain your approved RSG course certificate
- Must complete the mandatory gaming nominee training course. You must provide your gaming nominee training certificate of attendance at the time of lodging your application.
RSA & RSG
The Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course is nationally recognised. It educates students on assisting patrons to drink responsibly, as well as identify when they are overly intoxicated and must be refused service.
The Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) course is also nationally recognised and has to be completed by students wanting to be employed in the gambling industry. It instills in students an understanding of the nature of the gambling industry, as well as the importance of patrons gambling responsibly, and how to handle problem gambling and gambling incidents.
Food Safety Supervisor
This course is mandatory for supervisors in food handling and distribution industries. It teaches students how to identify food hygiene risks, maintain stringent hygiene standards in food handling and storage and incorporate industry approved cleaning and sanitising procedures.
Cert 2 & Cert 3 (In-house & Mobile)
A Cert 2 Course in Hospitality covers the basic operational procedures and best practices involved with the hospitality industry. From safe food handling and preparation and food and beverage service, through to housekeeping and game machine attendance, this course covers all facets of hospitality.
Cert 3 Course in Hospitality provides more advanced training in the competencies required to work in hospitality, as well as a foundation for progressing into a supervisory role. It incorporates food, bar and gaming service, front desk and receptionist training as well as housekeeping.

This course encompasses the skills and knowledge necessary to operate a forklift safely in a wide range of industries and conditions. Basic forklift maintenance is also covered.
Dedicated primarily for safe excavator and load handling in the extractive and mining industries, this course covers operations, machinery checks and basic maintenance, as well as safety procedures.
This training course was developed to teach students the operational requirements to drive a roller in the civil construction industry. The course offers detailed instruction of safe roller handling, from fitting and removing attachments, through to operating in different conditions, as well as daily checks and basic maintenance.
Principally designed for the civil construction industry, this course incorporates all operations related to backhoe and loader driving, as well as basic checks and maintenance.
Wheel Loader (RIIMPO304D)
Developed for the mining and extractive industries, this course covers all facets of preparing and planning loads, operations, safety checks and basic maintenance.
Skid Steer Loader (RIIMPO318D)
Primarily designed for the civil construction industry, the skid steer loader course encompasses machine pre-operation checks, basic maintenance, load preparation and planning, as well as operations.
This training course covers all aspects of grader operations in the extractive and mining industries. From planning and preparation of machinery and operations through to driving, maintenance and safety procedures, the course prepares students for handling graders in different conditions.
Water Truck (RIIMPO206D)
Specifically developed for the mining and extractive industries, this course incorporates all facets of water transport and distribution, as well as load planning, basic maintenance and operational checks.
The dozer course prepares students for machinery handling in the mining and extractive industries. From dozer operations to performing post-operational procedures, as well as basic maintenance, the course is comprehensive and industry accredited.
Front End Loader (RIIMPO321D)
Tailored to the needs of the civil construction industry, the front end loader course incorporates all facets of load planning and preparation, operations, site clearing, basic maintenance and operational checks.
First Aid Courses
QLD Training Solutions offer a range of first aid courses. We provide basic and more advanced course instruction to educate students on how to recognise and respond in all types of emergency and life threatening situations. Our first aid courses involve performing CPR, handling unconscious casualties and controlling bleeding.
Being able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation is vital in emergencies, and may be the difference between life and death if someone is unconscious and has stopped breathing. This course equips students with the skills needed to assist in sustaining life until an ambulance arrives.

Enter Confined Space
Covering all the fundamental risk assessment strategies and safe practices necessary for working in around a confined space, this course is comprehensive and can be applied to a range of different conditions. The course also incorporates operating confined space safety equipment.
White Card (Construction)
The White Card is a pre-requisite for all workers in the construction industry including tradesmen, apprentices, labourers, Project Managers and Supervisors. Respond to local emergencies and incidents (RIIERR302D)
A critical module for workers in the resources and infrastructure industries, offering detailed instruction on how to prepare for, and respond too, emergencies or incidents that arise in resources and infrastructure.
Conduct local risk control (RIIRIS201D)
This module is focused on risk management in the resources and infrastructure industries. It educates workers on how to assess risks, as well as the strategies and procedures that need to be undertaken for risk management.
Communicate in the workplace (RIICOM201D)
Developed for the resources and insfrastructure industries, this unit establishes the patterns of communication that must be followed onsite. This includes face-to-face discussion, documentation and also when using available communication systems. It also teaches workers how to use worksite communication systems.
Comply with site work processes/procedures (RIIGOV201D)
This unit is designed to educate those working in the resources and infrastructure industries on the site processes and procedures that must be followed, including site safety and health management.
Apply initial response first aid (RIIERR205D)
A vital module for workers in the mining industry covering how to assess an accident or incident, apply first aid, as well as complete the mandatory documentation and reporting procedures.
Work safely and follow WH&S policies and procedures (RIIWHS201D)
This unit is dedicated to safety and outlines the OH&S policies and procedures in the resources and infrastructure industries. It establishes how to apply both personal and operational safety measures.
